By Bargz Oils October 17, 2019

Things you will need:

- 2 tablespoons beeswax
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 tablespoon shea butter
¼ cup jojoba oil
Glass bowl
Mixing spoon
Small mason jars

Do you want to have a remedy that works for so many different skin problems?

If you want a remedy for many skin problems, a salve would be the best for you. It may sound very complicated but a salve is basically something topically applied to heal the skin. A salve comes in many forms. It can be a balm, ointment or cream. It is a semi-solid material made of oils and waxes. Beeswax is commonly used to bind all the ingredients of the salve together. It keeps the salve in a somewhat solid form.

Making a homemade salve is good because you can customize it in any way you want. The process is easy and you can experiment on different essential oils or natural ingredients.

1. In a heat-safe glass bowl, add 2 tablespoons beeswax.

2. Put the glass bowl with the beeswax into a pot of simmering water. In medium heat, melt the beeswax with occasional stirring. Make sure it is completely melted. It will take around 15 minutes.

3. Add 2 tablespoons of coconut oil to the melted beeswax.

4. Add 1 tablespoon of shea butter.

5. Add ¼ cup of jojoba oil.

6. When everything is completely melted and mixed, remove from heat and let cool.

7. Add all the essential oils: 20 drops frankincense, 30 drops lavender, 25 drops tea tree.

8. Pour the final mixture into small mason jars.

9. Let the salve cool completely before putting the lid on.

- Make sure the skin is dry and clean before using the salve.

- Apply a thin layer once or thrice a day or as needed.

- For minor burns, do not apply the salve directly. First, apply a drop or two of lavender essential oil on the affected area. Apply the salve only when the minor burn is no longer emitting heat. If you use salve when it is still giving off heat, the salve will trap the heat in and will slow healing.

    1. Coconut oil is antibacterial and antifungal and can moisturize and heal the skin.

    2. Shea butter can intensely moisturize and is high in vitamins A and E.

    3. Jojoba oil has antibacterial properties and contains antioxidants and nutrients that help reduce inflammation.

    4. Beeswax soothes, protects and nourishes the skin.

    5. Frankincense essential oil has antiseptic, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that boost healing of minor wounds, insect bites and rashes.

    6. Lavender essential oil helps improve blood circulation. It has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe, calm and provide pain relief.

    7. Tea tree essential oil is effective for skin healing and repair. It can relieve itching, redness, and inflammation.
