- Mixing spoon
- ½ cup of filtered water

- 2 tsp of pure organic aloe vera gel
- 10 drops of Tea Tree Essential Oil
- 5 drops of  Lavender Essential Oil

Let’s face it, most of us have had acne at some point in our lives. Pimples or acne can range from a few spots to frustrating breakouts. Regardless, having acne can be annoying or worse, can make us lose confidence and self-esteem

When the oil glands on the face overproduce oil, the excess oil combines with dead skin cells. These block the pores and hair follicles. Bacteria then develops in clogged pores and follicles, causing the most dreaded breakout.

External factors can trigger breakouts or worsen pimples. Hormones, diet, stress, lifestyle, and skincare - all play parts in causing pimples. Unbalanced hormones can affect skin condition. It is also believed that a diet high in sugar causes breakouts. Stress is generally not good for the health and for the skin. Having an unhealthy lifestyle and poor skincare can also cause acne breakouts.

Most people think that washing the face frequently can clear up the face. However, over-cleansing and over-exfoliating can actually worsen acne problems. The skin gets irritated and dries out. Dry skin tends to produce more oil, thus causing more acne. Using too much acne treatments can also have the same effect. Harsh cleansers and other skin products may have ingredients that cause more harm to the skin.

There is no single treatment for acne. Acne treatment requires a combination of lifestyle change, diet, proper skin care, topical treatments and for some, antibiotics and hormonal treatments. Having a healthy sugar-free diet can help prevent pimples. Living a healthy life, free from stress can also benefit the skin. It is also best to have a morning and night regimen for the skin which includes cleansing, medicating and moisturizing. Avoiding the urge to squeeze pimples is a must. Squeezing them can lead to infection and permanent scarring.

Although there are many commercial skincare products available in the market, we may not be sure how our skin will react to artificial ingredients. Most, if not all, may have ingredients that are harmful to the skin and can cause irritation.

If you want to make sure that you are getting an all-natural product that is also packed with healing benefits for the skin, you should make your own foaming face wash with essential oils. These have medicinal properties that are useful in fighting acne.

These are the essential oils that you will need in making your own face wash.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

Tea tree essential oil is packed with antibacterial and antifungal properties. This is why it is the most popular oil for acne treatment. It can reduce inflammation and dry out whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples. Tea tree essential oil can penetrate the skin and disinfect clogged pores, thus controlling acne.

Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense essential oil can help fade away acne blemishes. The best skincare benefit of this oil is its ability to regenerate healthy skin cells that can reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

Lavender Essential Oil

The lavender essential oil has antibacterial properties. It can penetrate the skin and kill bacteria in clogged pores. Lavender also moisturizes the skin and aids in healing and preventing acne. It is also the perfect essential oil to soothe the skin and clear imperfections.

There are only four simple steps in making an Essential Oil Face Wash for Acne:

2. Add the essential oils to the mixture and mix well.
